Medieșu Aurit

Medieșu Aurit (Hungarian: Aranyosmeggyes [ˈɒrɒɲoʃmɛɟɟɛʃ]) is a commune of 7,299 residents in Satu Mare County, Romania. It is composed of seven villages:

The commune is located on the right bank of the Someș River, in the eastern part of the county, at a distance of 21 km (13 mi) from the county seat, Satu Mare. The villages Băbășești and Potău were flooded by the Someș during the 1970 floods.[3]
