Huang Guigu

In the late Warring States period (246221 BC), Huang Guigu acted as a general for the First Emperor of China. She commanded three military units in campaigns against the aggressive Xiongnu and Xianbei nomad tribes which lived along the northern frontier.[1]

Huang Guigu was granted the title "Lady Sima." She was known for her strength as well as her skill. The founding Emperor of Han honored Huang Guigu with an empirical decree rewarding her with 300 catties of gold and jade.[2]
