Helmgast (also known as Helmgast AB) is Swedish publisher of role-playing games such as Kult,[1] Eon[2] and Neotech Edge.[3]

History

Helmgast was launched in 2014 by six experienced pen and paper RPG producers, the team have since grown further with award-winning and renowned game producers.[4]

Since inception they have held multiple crowdfunding campaigns to raise funds for releasing new games.[4][5][6]

They currently own or hold the exclusive world wide licenses for ENnie-award winning Kult (with its release of KULT:Divinity Lost), Neotech (classic cyberpunk turned into futuristic neopunk under Helmgast’s development), Eon (popular Swedish fantasy RPG), Järn (renowned Swedish RPG set in the myths and spirits of the iron age), Hjältarnas Tid (simple rules and easy to understand Swedish fantasy RPG), and The Troubleshooters (action-adventure role-playing in vein of European comics).[4]

Kult

Kult was originally published in 1991 in Sweden by Äventyrsspel (later Target Games.[7] In 2018, Helmgast bought the rights and released the fourth edition called Kult: Divinity Lost created by Robin Liljenberg and Petter Nallo.

The new edition won two ennies for Best Writing and Best Cover 2019, and was also nominated for Best Interior Art.[8]
