HIT: The Second Case

HIT: The Second Case is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language action-thriller film written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu. It is a stand alone sequel to the 2020 film HIT: The First Case. Produced by Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni under the banner of Wall Poster Cinema, it stars Adivi Sesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary while Bhanu Chander reprises his role from the original.

After the success of HIT: The First Case, Nani announced a sequel in February 2021, one year after the film's release.[3] Sailesh Kolanu who directed the first film of the franchise would be directing this. Adivi Sesh has replaced Vishwak Sen in the sequel.[4] Nani wanted the franchise to be "concept oriented" rather than "star oriented," so he moved the setting from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh and chose Sesh as the protagonist.[5] Meenakshi Chaudhary was cast opposite Sesh.[6] Sen said the he missed out on the sequel due to scheduling conflicts, and wished he'd be part of HIT 3 or 4.[7]

The film was launched in March 2021 with a formal pooja ceremony.[2] Sesh joined the production in August 2021.[8] In December 2021, Nani confirmed that 90% of the shoot is completed. Filming took place in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.[5]

Release

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 29 July 2022.[9]
