Galaxy Racer
Galaxy Racer is the largest esports, gaming and lifestyle organizations globally, headquartered in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates[1] with market presence in Middle East North Africa (MENA), Southeast Asia (SEA), South Asia, Europe and North America. It was founded in 2019 by Paul Roy who is the incumbent CEO of the organization.[2]
Galaxy Racer's competitive esports division, Nigma Galaxy has a roster of thirteen esports teams in Dota 2, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, Valorant, PUBG Mobile, BGMI, League of Legends: Wild Rift and Free Fire.[3] The organization currently consists of 60 male and female esports athletes from over 20 countries.[4]
Galaxy Racer has over 100 content creators across Middle East North Africa (MENA) and Southeast Asia (SEA), amassing over 500 million followers and generating over 2.5 billion monthly views.[5]

History

Galaxy Racer was founded in 2019 by Paul Roy in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. Roy also founded the first female team in the United Arab Emirates.[6]
In December 2020, Galaxy Racer and Cinepax launched the first ever Pakistan vs. India Fortnite ESports Tournament with US$10,000 Prize Pool.[7][8]
On January 30, 2021, Galaxy Racer announced partnership with eLaliga Santander Fan Cup, the official FIFA esports tournament of La Liga Santander organised internationally by La Liga and Electronic Arts (EA).[9][10] As part of this partnership, Galaxy Racer exclusively broadcast the eLaliga Santander Fan Cup in Arabic language on Galaxy Racer’s social media channels.[11]
On February 10, 2021, Galaxy Racer acquired a majority stake in DreamFyre Group, an esports and gaming agency based in the Philippines, to increase its presence in the Southeast Asian market.[12][13] After the acquisition, DreamFyre was renamed as GXR DreamFyre to reflect the parent company.[14]
On March 21, 2021, the Galaxy Racer's Free Fire esports team won the 2021 Spring Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) organised by Garena.[15][16]
On April 17, 2021, Galaxy Racer announced a record-breaking prize pool totaling US$10,000 for an independent Fortnite tournament in Australia.[17]
On May 17, 2021, Galaxy Racer partnered with Techxhub as the official sponsor for its ‘PUBG Mobile’ esports team. The partnership enabled Galaxy Racer's PUBG Mobile players to have access to game room setups powered by the technology distributor.[18][19]
On July 26, 2021, Galaxy Racer won 2021 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Stage 3 Challengers 2 tournament in the Philippines.[20][21] On the same day, Galaxy Racer announced it partnered with football superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his brother William-Fils to host the Galaxy Racer Aubameyang Cup, a cross-regional Fortnite: Battle Royale tournament between Europe and the Middle East from 1 to 4 August.[22][23][24][25]
On August 2, 2021, Galaxy Racer announced a global merchandise and content partnership with entertainment company Waverider.[26][27] The organization announced both its BGMI (India) and PUBG Mobile (Middle-East) rosters on the same day.[28][29]
On August 16, 2021, Galaxy Racer were crowned champions in the BTS Pro Series S7 Championship: SEA Title 2021 with a win against Fnatic.[30][31]
On August 27, 2021, Galaxy Racer entered a three-year content partnership with La Liga, the top-tier Spanish football league, to produce an exclusive original series featuring Galaxy Racer content creators with footballers from La Liga in Spain, focusing on lifestyle content.[32][33]
On August 29, 2021, Galaxy Racer and Waverider announced plans to host POPC Live!, the Middle East's biggest esports, comics and YouTubers’ pop culture festival in March 2022.[34][35]
On September 8, 2021, Anne ‘mamabenjyfishy’ Fish signed with Galaxy Racer as a content creator, and became the first mother of a pro gamer to join an esports team organization.[36] Anne Fish is the mother of Benjy "Benjyfishy" David Fish, a professional Fortnite player who currently plays for NRG Esports Europe and is considered to be one of the best Fortnite players in Europe.[37]
On September 18, 2021, Galaxy Racer announced its new Free Fire roster to compete in Free Fire India Championship Fall 2021.[38]
On September 21, 2021, Galaxy Racer and Team Nigma announced a merger that will see the combined entity called Nigma Galaxy with a focus on opportunities in the Middle East and Asia regions.[39][40][41]
On October 2, 2021, Galaxy Racer partnered with Pakistani celebrity and entrepreneur Fakhr Alam to expand into Pakistan.[42] Following the expansion, on October 11, 2021, announced the largest esports tournament in Pakistan with a US$100,000 prize pool, scheduled to be held in December 2021.[43][44][45]
On October 19, 2021, Galaxy Racer signed YouTube sensation Noor Stars as a new content creator.[46][47] She was the first person in the Middle East to reach 10 million subscribers on YouTube and is one of the most popular content creators in the region.[48]
On October 22, 2021, Galaxy Racer content creators in Southeast Asia participated in a ‘Squid Game’ style tournament on Roblox as part of a pay it forward initiative to the gaming community.[49][50]
On November 1, 2021, Galaxy Racer’s content creator, AboFlah raised US$1M for UNHCR’s (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) charity programme, in a record-smashing 28 hour livestream, with over 588K concurrent views, over 24 Million total views.[51][52][53][54]
On November 15, 2021, Galaxy Racer invested in Talent Lyfe, an innovative agency to represent elite athletes and young talent, launched by Mikaël Silvestre, a former Manchester United star.[55]
On December 2, 2021, Galaxy Racer and Riva Technology and Entertainment acquired VY Esports in play to own Middle East North Africa (MENA) and Southeast Asia (SEA) fan engagement.[56][57]
On December 13, 2021, Galaxy Racer launched GAMERS GALAXY, the biggest esports tournament in Pakistan with over US$100,000 in prize pool.[58][59]
On December 20, 2021, Galaxy Racer and eLaLiga Santander announced the FIFA22 tournament series, with Galaxy Racer being a sponsor of the event.[60][61][62]
On December 28, 2021, Galaxy Racer, the first esports organization to get into gaming, announced the sponsorship of Rogue Jam, a brand-new indie game jam competition with US$800,000 in prizes.[63][64]
On January 6, 2022, Galaxy Racer announced its content creator AboFlah in fundraising quest to raise US$10 million by living in a glass box in Dubai until he achieved its target.[65][66]
On January 8, 2022, Galaxy Racer announced the opening ceremony of GAMERS GALAXY, the biggest esports tournament in Pakistan featuring various popular esports game titles such as PUBG Mobile Gamers Galaxy, Valorant, HER Galaxy Valorant Spike Rush 2v2 (Pakistan’s first-ever women’s esports tournament), and the community tournaments of FIFA 22, and Tekken.[67][68]
On January 13, 2022, Galaxy Racer announced its investment of US$10 million into the esports ecosystem in Malaysia.[69][70]
On January 19, 2022, Galaxy Racer content creator AboFlah smashed two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles for the “Longest live-stream (video)”,[71] recording live for 268 hours 14 mins 20 seconds and “Most viewers for a charity donation live stream on YouTube”, attracting 698,000 peak concurrent views while raising over US$11Million for charity,[72] together with its partners the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the Food Banking Regional Network.[73]
On February 15, 2022, Galaxy Racer announced the sponsorship of the Canadian National Cricket Team at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier.[74][75]
On February 17, 2022, Galaxy Racer announced the GAMERS GALAXY: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022, the biggest esports tournament in the Middle East North Africa region with the top Dota 2 teams in the world, the first offline LAN (local area network) event for Dota 2 in 2022 with a massive AED 1,000,000 prize pool.[76][77]
On March 22, 2022, Galaxy Racer announced its expansion into North America with the HER Galaxy brand, a grassroots esports initiative aimed to create an inclusive ecosystem for women gamers. HER Galaxy will look to offer a platform for teams to grow, provide the resources required to build an audience and supply financial backing to aid sustainability across the region.[78]
