Feriel Boushaki
Feriel Boushaki (born 1986, Algiers, Algeria) is an Algerian contemporary artist specialized in plastic arts, presentation, dance, performance, scenography and installation.[1][2]

Academics
Boushaki was born in 1986 in the city of Algiers, and after completing her basic studies in Algeria she emigrated to France.[3]
She then studied art at the École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy (ENSAPC) from which she obtained the Diplôme National d'Arts Plastiques (DNAP) in 2010 with an honorable mention from the jury.[4]
In 2011, she benefited from an advanced training course as part of an exchange within the Art/Action department located at the Haute École d'Art et de Design (HEAD) of Geneva in Switzerland.[5]
She then continued her higher studies at the ENSAPC and in 2012 she obtained the Diplôme national supérieur d'expression plastique (DNSEP) with the congratulations of the jury.[4]
Boushaki then began a cycle of research during the years 2015 and 2016 in the structure of the Fricciones Laboratory specialized in music, visual arts, scenography, themes of representation and concert form, and this within the grounds of the Royaumont Abbey in the Viarmes region.[6]
She then followed a two-year training between 2018 and 2019 in dance and landscape architect at the École nationale supérieure de paysage de Versailles (ENSP).[7]
She then joined the campus of the Paris 8 University Vincennes-Saint-Denis during the period 2020 to 2021 to obtain the Artec Interuniversity Diploma (DIU), under the direction of Yves Citton and Grégory Chatonsky.[8]
Career
This artist practices performance and installation, she is also a performer in dance and performance. Her productions address issues of the collective, displacement and identities.[9] She organizes and participates in research projects.[3]
Boushaki's artistic activity as a dance and performance performer began in 2010 with the Vice-versa event in collaboration with Ji Sook Bang at the Centre Pompidou located in Paris.[10][11]
In 2013 she organized the presentation titled Ma Visite Guidée in collaboration with Xavier Le Roy and Fréderic Seguette at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale located in Paris, and she also presented the play titled Mordre la Poussière in collaboration with Grand Magasin in the same structure.[12][13]
Les jeux Chorégraphiques organized in 2014 were presented by this Algerian artist in collaboration with Laurent Pichaud and Rémi Héritier at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale.[14][15][16][17]
After a creative residence between 2015 and 2016 in the mountains of South Korea, her practice is developed with special attention to the notions of custom and landscape, two elements around which civilizations converge.[18]
In 2016 she designed the presentation entitled Carte blanche in collaboration with Tino Sehgal at the Palais de Tokyo located in Paris.[19]
The year 2018 saw Boushaki present the artistic piece entitled Herman Diephuis, Plus ou moins 20 pour commencer within the framework of the 20th Artdanthé Festival organized at the Théâtre de Vanves.[20]
Projects
Boushaki has been involved in several artistic projects since the beginning of his career, in this case the following:
- 192 Repositionnements: choreographic show whose writing is based on historical documentation related to slavery, in 2011.
- Le Marche-Pied: artistic expression that represents the desire to stand, with feet at water level during high tide, in 2012.[21]
- Disposition à la Française: a table for individual "French" meals whose plates, bowls, and plates are cast in plaster, pewter, and wax, in 2013.
- La Permanence des Réflexions: cycle of round tables around creation, and which is a meeting format where artists commit to witness, exchange, comment and compare their practices in a benevolent, curious and generous state of mind, since 2014.[22][23]
- (Rétro)spective: a performative compilation of several projects, performed by a dozen performers, most of them residents of the CiuP since 2014.[24]
- Almosthere: project carried out in the mountains of South Korea as part of several artistic residencies since 2015.[25]
- Palanquin: sculpture made from objects found during a residency in a disused house in Busan, in the Oedong district of South Korea, which took place in 2016.
- Du sable et des playmobil: 2016.[26]
- La Station Service: 2016.[27]
- La Permanence: 2016.[27]
- Notmade: filmed portrait of 5 characters in architectures under construction, in August 2018.[28]
- Sketch for Tired Eyes: composition choreography from a corpus of images staged according to the notions of slow motion, non-finite and morphing, in September 2018.[29][30]
- A Fan: choreographic variation inspired by the many dances that use fans, in March 2019.
- Une vraie déviation et rien d'autre: performance event that presents new performances by resident artists and guest artists, and which takes place in the different spaces of the place, in June 2019.[31][32][33]
- Le Bain: choreographic show whose writing is inspired by picnic scenes from the history of painting, in June 2019.
- Écran à Main: conference held through a chosen repertoire of dances, anecdotes and readings, where the show offers a layered interpretation of the habits and customs of the fan, in June 2019.[34]
- Les Scènes Furtives: program of performative walks in parks, squares and gardens of Ile-de-France from June 2019.[35]

- Shems: choreographic protocol inspired by the dances of the whirling dervishes, organized in Paris in July 2019.
- Path in Memory Powder: solo performance exploring the effects between body movement and sound memory, in July 2019.
- Situation de Paysage: oral and danced account of a walk through Paris in collaboration with Nataska Roublov, in September 2019.
- Fabriquer la ville: cultural action project since 2020.[37][3]
- Les Rondes Invisibles: stories of invisible collective marches that took place around the 18th arrondissement of Paris in April 2020.
- Vision Vapeur: a collaboration project by the artist Fériel Boushaki with the inhabitants of the districts of l'Horloge (Romainville), Sept-Arpents (Pantin) and Béthisy (Noisy-le-Sec) since 2021.[38][39][40][41]

Research
Boushaki has participated in various scientific activities since 2011 and has joined several research laboratories.
In fact, she was a member of the research group The Other Half of the Landscape (L'autre Moitié Du Paysage LMDP) from 2011 until 2020.[51]
In 2014 she founded the Permanence des Réflexions cycle, which consists of organizing round tables around creation, and which has lasted until 2020.[52][53][54][55]
Boushaki then joined during the year 2018 the Laboratory of Performing Arts (Laboratoire des Arts de la Performance LAP) as a member until 2020.[56][57][58]
In 2019 she founded the cultural activity Les Scènes Furtives, which consists of designing performative tours through green spaces.[59]
This artist participated from November 10, 2021, in the launch of the ParcourS de vi(ll)e activity in collaboration with the Maison de la Recherche affiliated with the University of Artois.[60]
She has been a member of the LabEx CDF since 2017, which is part of the authorities of the Louis Bachelier Institute in Paris. In 2020 she was responsible for e-learning tools and coordinator of the FaIR program.[61]
Dance and Performance
Boushaki has been artistically active as a dance and performance performer since 2010.[62]
In 2010 she participated in the edition and presentation of the play Vice-versa in collaboration with Ji Sook Bang at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.[63]
He then participated at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale de Paris in the 2013 edition of the play Ma Visite Guidée with the artists Xavier Le Roy and Fréderic Seguette, then in the same year the play Mordre la Poussière as part of the Grand Magasin, then in 2014 of the piece Les jeux Chorégraphiques in collaboration with Laurent Pichaud and Rémi Héritier.
In 2016, she then held the performance titled Carte blanche, Tino Sehgal at the Palais de Tokyo located in Paris.[64][65][66][67]
During the 20th Arthandé Festival held in 2018 at the Théâtre de Vanves, she presented the show Herman Diephuis, Plus ou moins 20 pour commencer.
Workshops and teaching
Boushaki participated in 2011 in the City Council of the 12th arrondissement of Paris in artistic workshops such as Animatrice Ville de Paris, and also led a drawing workshop around the landscape from First grade (CP) to Middle course 1st year (CM1) in the same district .
In 2012, she supervised art workshops at Lesjöfors Samtida in Sweden with refugee populations, children and adults as part of the LMDP (L' autre moitié du paysage) project.
In 2013, she also participated in the Public, enfants et adultes workshops of the French Alliance of Maracaïbo in Venezuela, then in the workshops around the landscape in Ouled Ftata in Morocco for the LMDP residency (The other half of the landscape).[68][69][70]
From 2015 to 2018, she joined the Starter project team to evolve as an acting teacher, within the School of Fine Arts in Paris, then she participated in the Atelier des mediations within the Théâtre de la Cité Internationale in the 14th arrondissement of Paris.
He participated in 2020 in the white jury of the National Diploma of Art (DNA) at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Besançon, then in 2021 in the jury of the Design Section of the Higher National Diploma of Plastic Expression (DNSEP) at École supérieure d’art Annecy Alpes.
From 2020 to 2022, Boushaki participated in the VISION VAPEUR project which is a collaborative artistic project with the inhabitants of the districts of l'Horloge (Romainville), Sept-Arpents (Pantin) and Béthisy (Noisy-le-Sec), supported by the National Center for Plastic Arts (CNAP), the Noisy-le-Sec Contemporary Art Gallery-Centre and the Fiminco Foundation, in the Seine-Saint Denis region.[71][72][73][74]
