Fave (singer)

Chidozie "Fave" God'sfavour (born 11 June 2000) popularly known as Fave is a Nigerian musician,[1] singer, songwriter and performing artist.[2]She is known for her hit single Baby Riddim[3][4] The song received mostly positive reviews from music critics and peaked at number one on Nigeria's TurnTable Top 50 chart.[5] and peaked at number forty-nine on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.[6]

Early life

Chidozie "Fave" Godsfavour was born on March 13, 2000. She hails from the Eastern part of Nigeria and of Igbo tribe to be precise.

She was raised alongside her siblings by her parents.[7]

She started singing from age 6, and finally entered the music scene at 19 with her first single, M.O.M.M.S.[8]

She went viral on social media during the first COVID lockdown in 2020 after posting a freestyle of what then became her third single, N.B.U (Nobody But You), with a beat provided by Jinmi Abduls.[9]

Career

In 2019, she released her first single M.O.M.M.S. Me or Mask My Sin[10]

In 2021 she was featured in two tracks Want and Ponpon by Nigerian rapper Olamide on his twelfth studio album UY Scuti.[11]

In 2021, she signed a record deal with Mr Eazi's EmPawa imprint.[12]

In September 2021, Fave achieved mainstream recognition with her hit single[13] "Baby Riddim" off her debut extended play Riddim 5[14][15]which spent a week at number one on Nigeria's TurnTable Top 50 chart and[16] peaked at number 10 on UK Afrobeats Singles Chart for 12 weeks.[17] On 29 March 2022, "Baby Riddim" debut on number 49, during the lunch of the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs, week of April 2.[6] She released her debut extended play 'Riddim 5' EP on Thursday, January 20, 2022.[18][19]
