Plot
Kalyan Nashikkar (Laxmikant Berde) and Bhanudas Mahimkar (Sachin Pilgaonkar) are two friends who are deaf and blind, respectively. Kalyan owns a shoe shop and is in love with Bhanudas's sister Manda (Sukanya Kulkarni). He does lip reading to understand what people are talking despite being deaf. Soon, Bhanudas joins as Kalyan's assistant in his shoe shop. Meanwhile, Vijaykumar (Ashok Shinde) is a criminal who creates a photographic film of a plan of Government of India and hides it in his shoes in order to hand it over to another criminal named Jhunjaar (Ajit Vachani). However, he refuses to hand it over to him for not getting much money from him. Jhunjaar asks his assistant Pandhari (Kuldeep Pawar) to somehow obtain the photographic film from him. One day, a barefooted Bhanudas bumps into Pandhari's partner Sona (Archana Joglekar) and smells her perfume. Meanwhile, Vijaykumar visits Kalyan's shop and wears Bhanudas's shoes on seeing Pandhari approaching him. Further, when Pandhari and Sona enter the shop, Pandhari shoots Vijaykumar to his death and flees with the shoes worn by him while Kalyan - whose back is turned - looks for various types of shoes. Kalyan neither sees nor hears the murder but notices Sona's legs walking out of the shop. Just then, the police arrive over there and suspect Kalyan and Bhanudas as the murderers on seeing Kalyan holding the gun left by Pandhari. The two are arrested after Bhanudas accidentally wears Vijaykumar's shoes which is noticed by Sona. In the police station, Kalyan and Bhanudas are interrogated by Inspector Sarjerao Shinde (Ashok Saraf), a local police officer who takes an instant dislike to them. Later, to obtain the shoes, Sona and Pandhari disguise themselves and assure Kalyan and Bhanudas that they will release them. However, Bhanudas recognises the perfume and Kalyan recognises the legs of Sona. Realising that they are trapped, the two flee from jail through a public protest and end up bumping into Sona and Pandhari on the road. However, Kalyan and Bhanudas escape from an abandoned police jeep and are chased by Sarjerao, Sona, and Pandhari. They manage to get rid of them all and move to a remote house after their original house is checked by Sarjerao. Soon, Sona also gives up crime and joins Kalyan and Bhanudas. After a yet unsuccessful attempt of obtaining the shoes, Pandhari kidnaps Manda while Kalyan and Bhanudas are found and re-arrested by Sarjerao. However, he lets them go on their request. Kalyan and Bhanudas then go to Pandhari's hideout to release Manda but end up getting captured by Pandhari. They are brought to the hideout of Jhunjaar. Jhunjaar - who is also blind - realises that they do not have the photographic film. Sarjerao traces them to the hideout and reveals to Jhunjaar that Sona had already handed over the photographic film to him, and was appointed as an official informant by the government. Jhunjaar and Pandhari are then arrested by Sarjerao and Kalyan and Bhanudas are proved innocent. In the end, Kalyan and Bhanudas get married to Manda and Sona, respectively.
