Edward Forber

Sir Edward Rodolph Forber, KCB, CBE (20 July 1878 – 8 July 1960) was an English civil servant. Educated at the University of Liverpool and Trinity College, Cambridge, he entered the civil service as an official in the Local Government Board in 1900. Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Health from 1925 to 1930, he was then Chairman of the Board of Customs and Excise from 1930 to 1934 and then Chairman of the Board of Inland Revenue from 1934 to 1938. His second wife was the doctor and university administrator Janet Lane-Claypon (1877–1967).[1][2]
