Echizen dynasty

The Echizen Dynasty is a theory of Japan ancient history proposed by Hidehiro Okada. Japanese dynasty following the Kawachi and Harima dynasties. Emperor Keitai was the first, and the 126th Emperor Tokujin is regarded as the direct ancestor of today's Imperial Family.

However, the Book of Sui, a Chinese document that describes the reign of Emperor Suiko (Regent Taishi Shotoku) as the Nihon Shoki visited Japan. Sui Dynasty envoy Pei Shiqing records that he "met with a male king who went by the name Okimi and had a queen and a prince. Therefore, Okada doubts the existence of Empress Suiko and Prince Shōtoku, and suggests that "there may be another break in the imperial line between Emperor Suiko and Emperor Jomei".[1][2]
