Early life
Ángel David Revilla Lenoci was born on July 16, 1982[5] in Caracas, Venezuela.[6] His father was a pilot[7] and his mother was a gastronomy-oriented businesswoman.[8] Ángel David Revilla, whose ancestry comes from Italy, Spain,[8] and United States,[9] he studied at Santa Maria University, Venezuela where he graduated from Social Communication in 2007,[8] in addition, he worked as a journalist for a medical magazine.[6] In 1998 created the blog called El Diario de Dross (The Diary of Dross),[1] whose username "Dross", is based on the then wrestler Droz (whom Revilla mistakenly refers to as «Warren Droz» in a interview), whose name Revilla misspelled as Dross instead of Droz.[6] Revilla started in 2000 writing acid game reviews for websites like MeriStation or Vandal,[10][11] he also made some posts in the forum GameFAQs.[1]
Career
Internet career

David created his YouTube account in 2006 and in 2007, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he currently resides.[1] At first he was dedicated to uploading gameplays of different video games such as I Wanna Be the Guy. However, Dross had some videos that were older that in the end he decided to delete, among them is one that was re-uploaded by user Lucas Pedraza in which he calls a hacker.[12] His look consisted of wearing long hair, dark glasses and a straw hat with a leopard print.[13] In mid-2013, he turned his content to horror videos,[14] and in 2015, Dross participated in a project called "Dross Dark Tales of Terror", where he told contemporary horror stories.[1]
Revilla currently runs two additional YouTube channels: Los Vlogs de Dross (Dross's Vlogs) and Mi Querido Mussolini (My Dear Mussolini), in which he uploads videos of his pet fish, Mussolini.[8] In March 2017, Dross was invited to the "La Mole Comic Con" event, which took place at the World Trade Center in Mexico City and which was dedicated to pop culture and Japanese culture. He participated in three meet & greet sessions, on the 17th, 18th and 19th of March.[15] In 2018, he won in the Digital Artist category,[16] in 2019 he won the Digital Vision Award,[17][18] and in December 2021, he won in the Best YouTuber category from Martín Fierro Awards.[19][20][21]
Writer career
His first novel, Luna de Plutón (Pluto's Moon), was published by the editorial Planeta in Spain and Latin America in 2015[22] and became a best seller in a few weeks.[4][23] His second book, El Festival de la blasfemia (The Festival of Blasphemy) was released in 2016,[24] a sequel to his first book, Luna de Plutón II: La guerra de Ysaak (Pluto's moon 2: The war of Ysaak), was released in March 2017.[25] and Valle de la Calma (Valley of Calm) was published in 2018.[26][27]
On August 5, 2019, the author launched his most recent work, El libro negro (The Black Book), in it explores the topics of the Deep Web,[28] and cosmic horror.[29] As of September 6, 2019, El libro negro became the best-selling book in some countries of The Americas,[30] like, Argentina, in which he head the number one of the best-selling books in that country from August 25 to September 1, 2019.[31] In September 2021, he released a book titled "Escape",[32][33] all his books were published by Planeta.[34]
