Biography
Drake Milligan was born in Mansfield, Texas. Milligan was inspired by the country music that his father listened to, such as Merle Haggard; he also drew inspiration from an Elvis impersonator that he saw perform at a local restaurant. From this, Milligan began performing locally as an Elvis impersonator himself, which led to him answering a casting call by CMT. The show then cast him as Elvis Presley in their TV series Sun Records. This role required Milligan to move from Texas to Nashville, Tennessee during his senior year of high school.[1]
Milligan competed on American Idol in 2021, but ultimately dropped out of the show, saying that he "wasn't quite ready for that platform yet, and that it would be a better step for [him] to move to Nashville and focus on [his] music first!"[2]
While in Nashville, Milligan also auditioned for a recording contract with BBR Music Group. The label initially rejected him, but signed him six months later. In July 2021, he released his self-titled debut extended play, which was produced by Tony Brown.[3] On October 22, 2021 he released a Christmas song- “Cowboy for Christmas.”
