Douglas Sims II

Douglas Arthur "DA" Sims II[1] is a United States Army major general who serves as commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley since August 14, 2020. He previously served as Deputy Director for Regional Operations and Force Management of the Joint Staff from June 2018 to June 2020.[2][3]

In February 2022, he was nominated for promotion to lieutenant general and assignment as the director of operations of the Joint Staff, succeeding James J. Mingus.[4][5]
