Education and career
Dan graduated from Princeton University in Structural Engineering with a B.S. and received the Carmichael Prize for his thesis.[1]
Dan began his career as a Collateralized Mortgage Obligation trader at Goldman Sachs.[2] Dan founded Pantera Capital Management LP a macro hedge fund that specializes in cryptocurrencies in 2003 which was the first investment fund focused on Bitcoin in the United States.[3][4] He also co-founded Atriax and was its CEO.[5] He served previously at Tiger Management as Head of Macro Trading and CFO,[6] former chairman at Bitstamp[7] and he was also featured in the novel, Digital Gold by Nathaniel Popper.[8]
