RANS Cilegon Football Club (formerly known as Cilegon United) is an Indonesian football club based in Cilegon, Banten. RANS Cilegon FC's nickname is Magenta Force and The Prestige Phoenix. The club currently play in Liga 1 Indonesia.

History

They have only been established in 2012 and do not have much history in Indonesian football. Previously they were named Cilegon United. On 31 March 2021, it was announced to be acquired by RANS Entertainment and Prestige Motorcars and it was renamed RANS Cilegon F.C. RANS is a company owned by Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina, while Prestige is a Supercar dealer from North Jakarta.[2]

On 28 September 2021, RANS Cilegon made their first league match debut in a 3–1 lost against club from South Tangerang Dewa United at the Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium.[3] a weeks later, they had their second match in a 2–1 win against Persekat Tegal.[4] On 1 December 2021, they closed the match in the group stage of the 2021–22 Liga 2 in a 3–0 win against PSKC Cimahi, with this result, they qualified for the second round as runners-up Group B.[5] On 22 December 2021, they qualified for the semi-finals of the 2021–22 Liga 2 as Group X winners after their match draw 0–0 over Sriwijaya.[6] satisfactory result occurred in the semi-final match five days later, they qualified for the final and promotion to Liga 1 next season after a 3–0 win over PSIM Yogyakarta.[7] but in the final match on 30 December 2021, they suffered a 2–1 defeat to Persis Solo and became runners-up Liga 2.[8]

Mascot

Magenta Phoenix is the mascot of RANS Cilegon FC. The colour of the RANS Cilegon FC Mascot Phoenix bird is Magenta, the colour is relegated to light blue to represent the women and men who support RANS Cilegon FC. The RANS Cilegon FC club is similar to Cerezo Osaka FC because it is anti-mainstream, namely the only football club that has a Magenta jersey with a light blue colour combination in Indonesia. Because the RANS Cilegon FC Jersey is Magenta and light blue, so it can be enjoyed by both women and men.
