Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun
Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun is a Bangladeshi police officer and the incumbent Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). He was made the DG of RAB in April 2020.[2] He is the former chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID).[3]

Early life
Al-Mamun was born on 12 January 1964 in the village of Shreehail under Sullah Upazila in Sunamganj District.[4]
Personal life
Al-Mamun is married to Tayyaba Musarrat Jaha in his personal life.[4] The couple has two sons and a daughter.[4]
U.S. sanctions
On 10 December 2021, The sanctions were imposed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury added Mr Al-Mamun in the list at the petition of several unknown organizations. Not any of these allegations are proven yet.
As Mr Al-Mamun is the Director General of RAB, Bangladesh and the United States are settling this issue through negotiations as a result of their solid diplomatic relations.
Individuals on the sanction list have their assets blocked and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from dealing with them.[5][6]
