Cairn Catto

Cairn Catto is a Neolithic long cairn near Longside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Description

The extant monument measures 47.18 by 18.28 metres (154.8 ft × 60.0 ft).[1] It consists of several mounds of pink-granite stones of great length. Several holes have been discovered on the southeastern edge of the cairn.[2]

Archaeological Discoveries

The Arbuthnot Museum in Peterhead houses two stone axes that were found at Cairn Catto in 1885.[3]
