Block voting

Block voting or Bloc voting may refer to:

• Plurality block voting, in an election with n winners, each voter may choose up to n candidates; the n candidates with most votes win
• Majority block voting, also known as majority-at-large voting or the two-round version of plurality block voting
• Preferential block voting, a preferential version of majority block voting
• Block approval voting, in an election with n winners, each voter may any number of candidates and the candidates with most votes win
• Partial block voting, also known as limited voting, in an election with n winners, each voter may choose up to m (m<n) candidates; the n candidates with most votes win
• Party block voting, also known as the general ticket, in an election where each voter may vote for a party and that party wins all seats
• Voting bloc, group of voters who co-ordinate their voting behaviour
• Block vote, exercised by Labour Party (UK) affiliated trade unions at party conferences until 1995
