Asad Mumtaz Malik

Asad Mumtaz Malik is a Pakistani cinematographer, director and actor. He is best known for portraying "Guru" in Hum TV's acclaimed Parizaad. Mumtaz will make his cinematic debut as director with Kubra Khan and Gohar Mumtaz starrer Abhee.

Career

Malik made his debut as a director of photography.[1] In 2012, he served as the D.O.P. of Mehreen Jabbar's Daam. In 2013, he directed television soap series Mein Hari Piya. He further served as the director of photography of Farhat Ishtiaq's Bin Roye (2015) and Umera Ahmad's Alif (2019).[2][3]

In 2022, Malik is set to made his cinematic debut as a director and will direct the Kubra Khan and Gohar Mumtaz starrer Abhee.[4]

Acting career

He made his acting debut in 2021 with Shahzad Kashmiri's directed Parizaad which was based on the novel of same name by Hashim Nadeem. Malik portrayed the character of a transgender, Guru for which he received critical acclaim.[5][6] He will next appear in Syed Ahmed Kamran's Ibn-e-Hawwa alongside Aymen Saleem, Hira Mani and Shehzad Sheikh.[7]
