All Over the Shop

All Over the Shop was a talk show broadcast on Melbourne’s 3 Triple R radio station. It was hosted by Leaping Larry L and Stew Farrell, airing Thursdays from 2pm – 4pm. It began broadcasting in April 2007 and the final broadcast was in December 2012. The show was live, in front of an audience.

The topics of the show were media stuff, real life and anything in between, also includes bulk swearing, groin and toilet references.[1]

Hosts

Stew Farrell - He was a co-host of the RRR breakfast show. Now a cheesy high flying private sector entrepreneur and sometime angry Ute guy.

Leaping Larry L - Often the show was used as a vehicle to plug his other stuff and jazz like his website. Then there was his other website later on. And his even furtherer later-on web page, where he does podcasts and stuff whether people want to hear 'em or not!

Larry used to host shows on 3RRR such as Danger: Low Brow, The Love Dealers and It's Clobberin' time.

Regular segments

On This Day, A Waft From Stew’s Kitchen, Same Old Same Old, Medium Underdone, Beyond The News, Farrell Up the Arts, Overrated Alley. Along with TV, movie, gig and dim sim reviews.

Music played on the show was chosen by the hosts and was extremely varied in styles, due to the extremely varied hosts. Examples of bands played included ODB, Queen, Slayer, Rolling Stones and The Ramones. Stew played Roscoe by Midlake often.

Interaction with listeners was encouraged through the use of a / Facebook Fan Page. This is still active. (See note below re revived podcast version of the show.)

Listener contact via text line operated via the most basic of mobile phones which was either flat or disconnected due to the pre paid access being expired. Any texts that did make it through were absolute dribble that complimented the absolute dribble that was the hallmark of the show.

Belated and annoying revival

For no convincing reason, All Over The Shop was restarted as a podcast in 2021, after a break of 8 1/2, 27, or 13 years, dependent on whether the listener worked out the numbers themselves or was foolish enough to listen to the maths-challenged AOTS hosts, who can't remember anything.

The show is weekly, and each one runs for 30-50 mins or so with no musical content, and arguably no other detectable content as well.

The hosts remain Big Stew Farrell and Leaping Larry L.

This is where you can find 'em.
