Alina von Davier
Alina Anca von Davier (born September 11, 1967) is a psychometrician and researcher in computational psychometrics, machine learning, and education. Von Davier serves on the technical advisory board member for Duolingo and on the board of directors of Smart Sparrow. She is an adjunct professor at Fordham University.[1]

Education
She completed a M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Bucharest in 1990. In 2000, she earned a doctorate in mathematics from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.[2]
Career
In 2020, she left ACT_(test) and was hired by Duolingo as chief of assessment. Previously, she was a senior research director at Educational_Testing_Service.[3]
Von Davier was the Chair of the Editorial Council of the Psychometric Society,[4] and is currently an associate editor for Psychometrika and has served as guest editor [5][6] for both Applied Psychological Measurement and the Journal of Educational Measurement.
She currently sits on the global board of directors for the Association of Test Publishers and is the president of the International Association of Computerized Adaptive Testing.[7]
The American Educational Research Association awarded Von Davier the Division D Significant Contribution Educational Measurement and Research Methodology Award[8] for her publications, "Computerized Multistage Testing: Theory and Applications" (2014) and an edited volume on test equating, "Statistical Models for Test Equating, Scaling, and Linking" (2011).
