Abdul Aziz Juned

Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned (Arabic: عبد العزيز بن جنيد) is a Muslim scholar and the current Grand Mufti of Brunei.[1][2][3] As a Grand Mufti, he is the most senior and most influential Sunni Muslim religious and legal authority in the nation. He was appointed by the Sultan.

In this Malay name, there is no family name. The name Juned is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by the given name, Abdul Aziz. The Arabic-derived word "bin" or "binti"/"binte", if used, means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.
