It provides rotary-wing contingency response support capability to the United States National Capital Region while also supporting regional and global customers with critical airfield infrastructure and aviation services. The group consists of two squadrons of aircrew and support personnel. The group was assigned to the 11th Wing from 1 October 2010.[1]
The 1st Helicopter Squadron transports senior military and civilian leaders, high-ranking dignitaries and distinguished visitors and constitutes the Air Force District of Washington’s only flying mission.
The 811th Operations Support Squadron supports vital airlift mission and provides aviation related services to joint forces customers and aircrew world-wide.[2]
