1993 Southeast Asian Games
The 1993 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 17th Southeast Asian Games were held in Singapore from 12 to 19 June 1993 with 29 sports in 440 events featured in this edition. This was the third time Singapore hosted the games after 1983 and 1973 competition. It was opened by President Wee Kim Wee. The Games featured 29 sports in 440 events.[1] The final medal tally was led by Indonesia.

Logo

The logo of the 1993 Southeast Asian Games is an image of a lion, which represents Singapore with the nickname, the lion city as the host of the 1993 Southeast Asian Games. The colours of the lion, blue, yellow, red, black and green are colours of the Olympic movement and represents the Olympic and sportsmanship spirit of the participating athletes in which the important thing is not to win, but to take part. The six-ring chain, the logo of the Southeast Asian Games Federation, represents the six founding nations of the Southeast Asian Games and the Southeast Asian Games itself.
Mascot
The mascot of the 1993 Southeast Asian Games is a lion named, Singa. It has heart-shaped mane, snout and tail which represent the hearty welcome of athletes to the city.[2][3]
Torch
The torch of the 1993 Southeast Asian games resembles that of a sword mounted with a lion's head.

A total of 1048 medals, comprising 319 Gold medals, 318 Silver medals and 411 Bronze medals were awarded to athletes. The host Singapore's performance was their best to date and placed fourth overall amongst participating nations.

Opening ceremony
Opening Ceremony of the 1993 Southeast Asian Games was the official opening ceremony held in the Saturday night at 20:00 Singapore Standard Time (UTC+8) on 12 June 1993 in the Singapore National Stadium was attended by the President of Singapore Wee Kim Wee.

- Countdown Opening Ceremony "Countdown" from 20 to 1 all full screaming voice: Twenty, Nineteen, Eighteen, Seventeen, Sixteen, Fifteen, Fourteen, Thirteen, Twelve, Eleven, 10 (Ten), 9 (Nine), 8 (Eight), 7 (Seven), 6 (Six), 5 (Five), 4 (Four), 3 (Three), 2 (Two), 1 (One) and officially launched very first logo of 1993 Singapore SEA Games.
- Playing of the national anthem of Singapore: "Majulah Singapura" with national emblem displays on national flag was raised cueing musical by Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
- Parade of nations included Indonesia enters first followed by Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore last as host nation.
- President of Singapore Wee Kim Wee announced the opening of the Southeast Asian Games officially opened signed to pigeon hello welcome to Go For Gold sign and theme.
- Entry of the Southeast Asian Games Flag. The flag was carried by the ten Singapore Police Force. The flag was raised to the Southeast Asian Games Anthem.
- Entrance of the Southeast Asian Games flame was carried into the stadium by last runner was Grace Young.
- Exit of athletes opening ceremony ended at 21:00 SST.
Closing ceremony
Closing Ceremony of the 1993 Southeast Asian Games was the official closing ceremony held in the Sunday night at 20:00 Singapore Standard Time (UTC+8) on 20 June 1993 in the Singapore National Stadium was attended by the President of Singapore Wee Kim Wee.

- Playing of the national anthem of Singapore: "Majulah Singapura" with national emblem displays on national flag was raised cueing musical by Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
- Flag bearers enter the stadium.
- Athletes enter the stadium.
- Athletes gather in the stadium, as gymnasts and performers carrying multicoloured vertical flags enter.
- Presentation of the final women's badminton medals; including the national anthem of Indonesia: "Indonesia Raya" for the gold medallist Susi Susanti was officially winning ceremony by Indonesia as winner champions of the Southeast Asian Games.
- Lowering of the Southeast Asian Games Flag and singing of the Southeast Asian Games Anthem extinguishing of the Southeast Asian Games flame following a depiction (at the turn light off at Singapore Changi Airport control tower) of a "all light off" sourced from the flame to exit of the Southeast Asian Games Flag and amidst fireworks displays.
- President of the Republic of Singapore Wee Kim Wee announced the closing of the Southeast Asian Games.
- Raising of the Thailand national flag, to the Thailand national anthem.
- Next host city presentation of the 1995 Southeast Asian Games after officially handover ceremony by from Minister for Defence Yeo Ning Hong to Mayor of Bangkok Kritsada Arunwong na Ayutthaya.
- Exit of the athletes, marshals, multicoloured flag bearers and gymnasts was then released into the sky while in the final seconds of the farewell celebration fireworks display then happened around the Singapore National Stadium grounds, the second such display during the ceremony the fireworks lighting up the night sky all the exit closing ceremony ended at 20:30 SST.

Southeast Asian Games 1993 are official main broadcast rights by Singaporean national free-to-air terrestrial channel's SBC-12 since 12-19 June 1993.
