- The California Golden Seals' first-round pick went to the Montreal Canadiens as the result of a trade on May 21, 1968 that sent California's 1968 first-round pick along with Wally Boyer, Alain Caron, California's 1970 first-round pick and future considerations Lyle Bradley to Montreal in exchange for Norm Ferguson, Stan Fuller, future considerations François Lacombe and Michel Jacques.
